GAME4CHANGE Info Day at the Institute of Journalism Open Day in Kyiv
The Erasmus+ project GAME4CHANGE – Digital Educational Games for Climate Change Info Day was presented on March 28, 2026 during the Open Day of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Journalism at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
The Information Day brought together current and prospective students, academic staff, researchers from various faculties, and media representatives, offering them the opportunity to explore the project’s results and innovative approaches to climate change education. Visitors were introduced to how digital serious games and modern communication tools can support the understanding and effective communication of environmental issues.
The event also showcased the broader activities of the Institute, including its international partnerships, participation in global programmes, and engagement in interdisciplinary initiatives. Organized by the Institute’s International Relations Office, the Open Day highlighted five Erasmus+ projects currently implemented by the Institute of Journalism, underlining its active role in advancing international collaboration and innovation in education.
Within this context, GAME4CHANGE was presented as a forward-looking initiative aimed at transforming environmental education in higher education. The project focuses on equipping educators with practical tools and methodologies to integrate gamification into their teaching, while engaging students through interactive learning experiences that foster a deeper understanding of climate-related challenges.
Special attention is given to inclusivity, ensuring that digital tools and learning opportunities are accessible to all students, including vulnerable groups. At the same time, the project contributes to the development of innovative educational resources designed for long-term use, including future postgraduate programmes on environmental topics.
By fostering cooperation among universities across Europe, GAME4CHANGE also supports the creation of a strong academic network for knowledge exchange, enhancing the quality and impact of environmental education.
The information day served as an important platform for raising awareness about the Erasmus+ GAME4CHANGE project, encouraging participation, and strengthening the dialogue between academia, students, and the wider community on climate change and sustainable development.
